                MANUAL WEBSITE FAMILY BOEKHOUD

Dear family-member or visitor.

This manual is intended to guide you through my website. If you get no results after following the manual in filling in your own privat-page and/or going around the privat-pages of the family please let me know and I will help you of course.

Good to know.

- Exept for this page all the texts in orange colour or texts that light up in orange colour in my website are links connecting you to another item.
For more details see “Introductie / Introduction” in the mainmenue; item “Hoe het werkt /
        How it works
”. If you visit this page then click on “English text below” at the top of
        the page and
the text will jump to the English version.

- Every familymember got his own private-page. In addition there are a number of pages related to the family but more elaborate on yhe background and the living conditions.
For more details see "Introductie / Introduction" in the mainmenu; item "Over deze website
        / About this website
".

- Note: due to the Dutch law on privacy visitors and family-memberts without an account have no access to the private-pages of family-members born after ca 1910-1920.

- The manual has three chapters; A, B and C
        Part A
- to go to your own private page
Part B - to edit your own page
Part C - to read the pages of our family

-  Please keep in mind that my website is very far from finished (if ever!). I still have
to implement a lot of data about the family and/or translate the information in English.

- Then now for the Manual, starting below

                              Manual

Part A  - To go to your own private page

 1. To open the website: type in Google the address:
           www.boekhoudfam.nl.

2. The homepage appears. (Welkom ... etc / Welcomeetc).
Click on “Aanmelden / Log in “ in the mainmenue to go to your own page.

3. The page  ”Aanmelden voor familie / Family log in” appears.
Fill in your gebruikersnaam / username and  wachtwoord / password.
Click on either “Enter” or at the bottom of the page on “Login”.

4. Another page “Aanmelden voor familie / Family log in” appears.
You will see that you are logged in now with your own name.
Click on "Ga naar mijn pagina / Go to my page

5. Now you arrive at your own private-page. I already filled in a few things to make it
    work. You can do now 2 things;
         go to Part B to edit or change your page, or;
go to Part C to read the pages of our family.

Part  B - Edit your own private page.

1. Click in your private-page at the top of the page on “Wijzigen / Edit”.
The page “Gegevens wijzigen / Edit data“ appears.

2. On this page you can fill in everything about your person as follows.

Beschikbaar voor iedereen / Available to anyone
In the little rectangle – the checkbox - you can put a mark by clicking on it.  If you
leave it blanc your page is only accessable for the family. If you put a mark the tekst
of your page can be read by anyone.
     Advice: let it blanc.

“Titel / Title”.
This is the title that appears above your biography. The text is free but obligated.
You could for example type: “Hello dear family, I am …..” or whatever.

“Afbeelding / Image 1, 2 en 3”
To place a photograph. Skip for now and see below.

“Tekst / Text”
The text is free but obligated. I will be very glad if you give in short in your
biography information such as: who you are, your character, your hobby’s, your
occupation, where you met your husband, etc. etc. If you don’t want to give any
     information then write so.

 “Voornamen / First names”
     All your given names.

“Geboortedatum / Birthday”
Your day of birth, preferable in: dd-month-yyyy, but month-dd-yyy is also ok.

“Geboorteplaats / Place of birth”
The village or town where you were born

“Overleden op / Deceased on”
Leave it alone otherwise your biography will become a necrology.

“Getrouwd op / Married on”
Type the date preferably as dd-month-yyyy and the name of the city,  for instance “10 January         1987 in Dontknowwhere.”

“E-mail adres / E-mail adress”
With your address the family can send you directly a mail if they visit your page.

“Telefoonnummer / Phone number”

“Straat en huisnummer / Adress”
      Streetname and housenumber.

“Adres extra / Adress extra”
If the adress is not enough to make clear where you live. For instance a Province.

“Postcode + woonplaats / Zip code + City”

“Land / Country”

You better now first store your data.
Click on “Opslaan / Save” at the pagebottom – you enter your private-page again.
Click on “Wijzigen / Edit” at the top of the page to edit again.

Now for the photo’s

"Afbeeldingen / Image 1 ( 2 and 3 )"
On your private-page you can put 3 photographs. You are free in the subjects but I should like it if you put a recent photo of yourself on "Afbeelding / Image 1". On the places 2 and 3 you could for instance place a photo when you were a baby, or your house, maybe a boat, something where you are very fond of, or whatever.

To place a photo do as follows.
      Click on “Wijzigen / Edit
Click on the box “Bestand kiezen” (under either “Afbeelding / Image 1, 2 or 3”).
You are now in your own computer. Search the photo you want to place and click
      on the immage.
On the edit form you will see now the name of this photo but not yet the image.
Click on “Opslaan / Save” at the bottom of the page.
It will take a minute or so before the photo is placed so be a little bit patient.
Click on “Wijzigen / Edit” and you can place another photo.

Part C - To read  the pages of our family.

To read the private-pages of our family there are 3 ways to find these pages.

1. Click in your own private page on the names below “Ouders / Parents” or “Kinderen /
Children” to read the information about the ancestors or descendants.  If you are ready and you want to see more then click on the names below “Ouders /  Parents” or “Kinderen / Children” again on the page you are visiting.  In this way you can visit the pages of your father & mother, there father & mother and so onward till our first ancestor Schelte Pauls.  You also can go downwards to the descents of the family of course via the children.  If you want to go back to your own page then click on “Ga naar mijn pagina / Go to my page” at the right-top on the page you are visiting.
To find a “far” ancestor this is a cumbersome system. Easier is to use the methods 2 or 3

2.  Via the familytree.
Point on “Stamboom / Familytree” in the mainmenue on the left side.
     Click on “Tekst / Text
Search for the name you want to see. If found, click,  and the page of that person
appears. From this page on you can visit other pages or go back to your own page as
     described in C1.
Note: If you call up the familytree without logging in, the family born after about
1910/1920 is not accessable due to the Dutch law on privacy. The textcolour of these persons is black.

3. Via the link “Namen / Names” on your own page or the page you are visiting.
Click on the link “Namen / Names” and a list of names appears. Choose the name you
want to see, click, and the private-page of that person appears.
From this page on you can visit other pages or go back to your own page as des-
     cribed in C1.
Note: If you call up the familytree without logging in, the family born after
about 1910/1920 is not accessable due to the Dutch law on privacy. The
textcolour of these persons is black.

If you are ready with everything then go back to your own page and close with “Log-out”
